I use a variety of different media in my paintings but I am most comfortable with watercolour.  The initial drawing is important and I find that watercolour painting can be an extension of drawing. My work tends to be very detailed with a sense of design and pattern sometimes inspired by patchwork and quilting. Although I enjoy using a whole range of colours, I also find colour schemes effective.  Having worked on a large scale, at present I am concentrating on small still -lives in watercolour, and plant and flower drawings, influenced by botanical illustration.
